“We didn’t forget all the love and support. Here’s the love back,” said Jeff Parness, who started the New York Says Thank You Foundation.

Thirty New Yorkers, including 16 firefighters, will travel to Utica and Granville this weekend to help plant 418 trees dedicated to the fallen first responders of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, Parness’ friend and the nine victims of the April 20, 2004, Utica and Granville tornado.

Parness, a New York venture capitalist who lost a business partner in the World Trade Center attacks, said the purpose behind the NYSTY foundation is to recreate the kindness New York received during that tragedy.
